Rates
Rural Iowa Landfill's rates are devided into three different areas. One is regular waste (including household waste and construction) in Hardin County, the other is Special waste and the third is for counties other than Hardin.
Hardin County household waste and construction are both $45 a ton.
Butler and Grundy County both pay $40 a ton.
Special Waste, including asbestos, is $50 a ton.
All untarped vehicles will be charged an extra $25 fee.
Tarping Policy
There is a $25 fee for all untarped vehicles. The tarping policy for the Rural Iowa Landfill
Windy Day/Thunderstorm Policy
The landfill will close on days that are considered too windy (determined by the Director). The landfill will notify local radio stations with advanced notice. The landfill will also close if lightning strikes are determined to be too close to the hill.
